Hello friends! Aleshia Keene here again, guest writing about Homeschool Day at Gulf World in beautiful Panama City Beach, Florida! The amazing crew at Gulf World gave our families the opportunity to serve at a beach clean-up and earn free admission into the park by doing so.
Considering it is the area's off season, I was surprised at the amount of trash that still littered the beaches. I imagine in the hour+ that we all spent there, we likely didn't even put much of a dent in it
Field trips can be fun and enriching, but I must say I am partial to the opportunity for our children to serve in the community. Learning through serving others and our communities is the BEST type of education!
After the clean-up we spent the remainder of the afternoon inside the park watching holiday themed shows and participating in group chat sessions about various animals.
Marine life wasn't the only type of creature the park houses. We met birds and reptiles too! I'd say my favorite was the snake... but that'd be a lie. I actually most enjoyed meeting the crow! Yes, the crow. He was very funny and smart!
Gulf World really out did themselves. In the end we took home crafts, in-house pictures, activity pages and informational packets. Plus a wealth of new memories and tid-bits of information.
I am happy to say that this marks yet another successful field trip for our children. Many thanks and love to the crew at Gulf World for providing such an enriching and educational experience for our children.
